The art I made is supposed to represent Atom number 31, Gallium. Gallium cannot be found naturally, but it is easily found by smelting. It was discovered by Paul Emile Lecoq de Boisbaudran while spectroscopically searching some zinc in the Pyrenees. I go the idea for my print after I found out that Gallium melts at room temperature and is normally used in high-temperature thermometer. I made the plate by drawing a picture of a high-temperature thermometer since it isn't something that you hear about a lot. Making the plate was actually really fun since it reminded me of the good times at my old school. To make the prints I painted the plate on one side than pushed it down on the paper to have it come out good. I liked making the plate the best since I like using tools like chisels. If i did this again I would use my time more effectively than I did this time.
